Community Leadership

MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN SIMCOE COUNTY

Children depend on their communities for many of the things they need to grow up healthy and competent. Ensuring that the needs of children and families are met requires innovative solutions and energetic leadership.

Do you know a volunteer and professional worker who have made a difference in Simcoe County?

The research is clear: “THE RIGHT OPPORTUNITY AT THE RIGHT TIME CAN CHANGE A YOUNG PERSONS LIFE.”

Investing in children is the mark of a compassionate society. It is also enlightened self interest since today's children are Canada’s intellectual, economic and social future.

“And in spite of government restraint, it is not too much to hope that we can make substantial progress in improving the well being of children and families. Our knowledge of what is possible must be matched by a will to make it a reality”. (John Evans: Our Promise to Children)

The community leadership recognition program acknowledges leaders in Simcoe County who have worked to promote and secure environments in which children, youth and families benefit from innovative programs, creating hope and opportunity in facing life’s challenges.
