New Path Youth & Family Services

New Path is the result of a 1998-9 community based process that amalgamated four children’s service providers in Simcoe County, the Robert Thompson Youth and Family Centre, the Richmond Youth and Family Centre, the South Georgian Bay Counselling Services, and the children’s mental health programs of Catulpa Tamarac Child and Family Services. The amalgamation was completed on April 1, 2000, bringing together over 120 years of human services in Simcoe County.

New Path Foundation

New Path Foundation originated as the Thompson Centre Community Foundation founded in 1996. On April 1, 2000 the Foundation became the New Path Foundation of Simcoe County.

The Foundations ensures the availability of human and financial resources for innovative programs within Simcoe County. By encouraging an increasing flow of recourse from individual and corporate donors, New Path Foundation created and manages funds to meet the identified needs of children, youth and families.

New Path Resource Centre

New Path Resource Centre was established to generate earned income through commercial business ventures. This approach provides New Path the opportunity to pursue its vision and mission using earned and unrestricted funds from the market place. “Intensifying demands for improved effectiveness and sustainability in light of diminishing funding from traditional sources and increased competition for these scarce resources” has propelled New Path to broaden its funding strategies and to consider approaches which incorporate mutually beneficial partnerships with business. The benefits are sustainable funding and a greater range of services to meet increasing and more complex services demands.
